Petros Konofaos, MD, PhD, FEBROPAS, attended the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Faculty of Health Sciences in Thessaloniki, Greece, and received his medical degree in 1998. Then, he received his PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens– Faculty of Medicine. Furthermore, he conducted his general surgery residency Laiko General Hospital in Athens and Prefectural Hospital of Nafplio in Argolida. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed a residency in reconstructive and nerve microsurgery at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. Dr. Konofasos went to the the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where he completed fellowships in microsurgery (2011-2012), pediatric, plastic & craniofacial surgery (2012-2013), and maxillofacial and adult craniofacial surgery (2013-2014). He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Athens Medical Association, the Hellenic Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, and the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery. Dr. Konofaos feels that his success is attributable primarily to his hard work. He dedicates his spare time to running, traveling, and playing sports.
